Summary: In just six days, Messer Truck and Van completed a 27-vehicle upfit for CertaSite, LLC at the client’s Indianapolis headquarters.
CertaSite, LLC, a leader in fire and life safety solutions, faced a logistical challenge when it acquired 27 new vehicles for its fleet.
Its fleet management company, Velcor Leasing, needed to find and contract with an upfitter that could quickly and efficiently get these new vehicles ready for service with specialized equipment, graphics, and electrical systems. At the same time, CertaSite wanted to avoid wasting time and money transporting the fleet of vehicles to an upfitting facility.
There was also an urgency to get the fleet ready for fieldwork. CertaSite’s parking lot offered limited space and a large fleet sitting in one place is a security risk from vandalism and part theft.
An Upfitter Willing to Accommodate
Velcor Leasing contacted Messer Truck and Van about the upfitting project. We were willing to work with Velcor and CertaSite on the upfit location and promised a speedy project turnaround time.
Messer meticulously planned the execution of the project before heading to Indianapolis to complete the work. Our team pre-assembled much of the cargo management equipment at our facility to expedite installation and minimize on-site assembly challenges. We also coordinated with a nearby printer to ensure the timely production of vehicle graphics.
One challenge faced by the Messer team was the graphics application required a controlled environment protected from outdoor elements. However, CertaSite’s available warehouse was not tall enough to accommodate the larger cargo vans. Messer coordinated with a nearby facility about a mile away to complete the upfitting of the larger cargo vans and trucks, showcasing our adaptability and resourcefulness.
27 Vehicles in Just 6 Days
Messer Truck and Van’s expert team initiated the project with precision, overcoming minor setbacks with the printer to complete the upfitting of all 27 vehicles—comprising large and small cargo vans and pickup trucks—within an impressive six-day timeframe.
Each vehicle was customized with a specific cargo management system, electrical setup, and branded graphics, transforming the fleet into a cohesive, professional array ready for immediate deployment.
Jeff Elixman, Fleet and Safety Manager at CertaSite, lauded Messer’s work. “Messer Truck and Van’s professionalism was very impressive,” said Elixman. “Messer immediately eased our concerns about the project by working quickly and quietly while clearly communicating with me throughout. We were pleasantly surprised when they completed everything in just six days.”
The transformation of CertaSite’s fleet enhanced operational efficiency and elevated the company's brand presence, eliciting employee excitement and pride.
This case study exemplifies Messer Truck and Van’s commitment to delivering tailored solutions with speed, efficiency, and minimal disruption, reinforcing its position as a leading partner for fleet upfitting needs.
