Project Scope

  • Vehicle Type: Van
  • Vehicle Year: 2020
  • Vehicle Make: GMC
  • Vehicle Model: Savana

Messer Work Van Solutions recently completed an upfit of a 2020 GMC Savana cargo van.

Adrian Steel Cargo Management Components

Adjustable Shelving Units

Two 44-inch adjustable shelves were affixed to the left side of the cargo area, with a third installed on the right wall. These shelves offer excellent weight capacity:

  • Lip up - 100 lbs.
  • Lip down with weight evenly distributed - 200 lbs.

All shelves are 12 or 14 inches deep and adjustable by removing the front bolts. They can be slid up and down in one-inch increments.

The side panels are contoured, allowing for easy installation in a GMC Savana van, where the top walls are slightly rounded toward the roof.

EZLoad Tank Rack

The installed EZLoad Tank Rack includes three racks but is also available with one, two or four shelves. Stretching 33.7 inches tall and 11.8 inches wide, it nicely bookends an Adrian shelving unit.

With its restraining strap, the unit can security transport tanks full of all types of compressed gas, including Freon and Puron.  This part is practically a requirement for HVAC crew vans.

Deep Drawer Drawer Unit

Two deep drawer units were added to the right shelving unit. These pull-out drawers help to keep tools, parts and other cargo organized and accessible. The drawers are designed to stay closed while in transit. In addition, a locking mechanism keeps drawer contents secure and concealed.

4-Hook Bar

A 4-Hook Bar was also affixed to the right shelving unit. The steel hooks extend 2.2 inches, making them ideal for transporting tool belts, safety gear, bags or other clothing.

Cab Partition

A black, steel partition was also installed to keep passengers safe from moving or shifting cargo. This partition included a door kit, enabling crews to access the cargo area directly from the cab. In addition, perforated windows were included on two of the three partition panels giving the driver more visibility and to allow heat and air conditioning to travel into the cargo compartment.

Project Turnaround

Messer’s team turned around this project in 2 days.
